Alternative materials in moulding elements of hybrid moulds: structural integrity and tribological aspects

چکیده
Hybrid moulds are an increasingly considered alternative for prototype series or short production runs. This type of tools resorts on the use Rapid Prototyping and Tooling (RPT) to produce moulding elements (blocks other inserts). study was developed using a hybrid injection mould with exchangeable that were produced by additive manufacturing (AM), namely vacuum epoxy casting, stereolithography ProMetal. A full steel tool also used as reference. The processing conditions polypropylene moulded parts monitored pressure, temperature ejection force. performance assessed in terms pressure evolution during cycle AM physical integrity. data from inserts compared structural rheological simulations ANSYS Workbench MOLDEX 3D. results show integrity depend properties materials used. shrinkage, when resin cores used, is affected core deformation caused pressure.
